Your introduction to the aerial hoop. Mounts, sit positions, basic poses inside and on top of the hoop, with a focus on safe technique and the strength to hold a clean line.
Taught by Nicole Jacobsen
Class Spotlight
Spin and pose on a suspended steel hoop — graceful, athletic and endlessly creative.
The Lyra Aerial Hoop combines strength, flexibility and stunning poses on a suspended hoop. Students learn how to maneuver their bodies through and around the hoop, creating beautiful shapes and sequences. Both inside and outside the lyra become a stage for poses, spins, balances and dramatic drops.
Lyra is approachable for newcomers and rewarding for life. It builds extraordinary upper-body strength while showcasing your artistry — from playful musical pieces to powerful, performance-ready choreography.
Leggings and a fitted top that covers the backs of your knees and underarms. Bare feet preferred. Long hair tied back, no jewelry.

Intermediate
Low and spiny, this class focuses on developing choreography. Students should be interested in challenging lyra-based choreography and lengthy flows. Comfort working on a single aerial point and the ability to complete an unassisted in-air inversion are required. Slightly more challenging than Level 1.
Intermediate / Advanced
Hocks, splits, layouts and dynamic spins with momentum. Drops, beats and transitional sequences for choreography work.
Workshop
A periodic special event focused on linking lyra elements into seamless, performance-ready sequences. Watch the schedule for the next 'Ography Edition'.
