About Aerial Silks
Aerial Fabric — also known as Split Silks or Tissu — is one of our most popular classes. Two long pieces of fabric hang from the ceiling, becoming your canvas to climb, wrap, drop and pose. Students learn how to climb, wrap and drop, creating mesmerizing shapes and sequences in the air.
Our Open Level Aerial Fabric class welcomes students of every background. You'll develop a strong foundation in aerial silks, focusing on conditioning and key techniques like wraps, locks, sequences and flow. Newer students master inversions, cross-back straddles, catcher wraps, hip-key sequences and s-wraps. Seasoned aerialists challenge themselves by layering tricks, incorporating complex conditioning and extending their air time.
What to wear
Wear close-fitting clothes that cover the backs of your knees and your armpits — leggings and a fitted t-shirt are perfect. No jewelry, zippers or anything that could snag the silks. Bare feet preferred. Long hair should be tied back.
