Studio guidelines

Studio Policies

Please read before your first visit. These policies help us keep every class safe, respectful, and fun for our students, instructors, and guests.

Pre-Arrival Information

All students must complete and sign our electronic liability waiver before their first class. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign on their behalf.

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in, change, and be ready to start on time. We provide mats, blocks, straps, and cleaning supplies. Grip aids such as rosin, dry hands, and iTac are available for use in class — feel free to bring your own if you have a preferred product.

Late Policy

Please do not be late.

For safety reasons, students who arrive after class has started may not be permitted to join. Aerial, pole, and flexibility classes require a full warm-up to prevent injury. Late arrivals will forfeit that class credit and will not be transferred to another day or refunded.

Being on time is a courtesy to your instructor and classmates — walk-ins mid-class are disruptive to the experience we work hard to provide.

Cancellation Policy

We have a 12-hour cancellation policy for all group classes. If you cancel more than 12 hours before class start time, your credit is returned to your account and you may rebook.

Cancellations made inside the 12-hour window (or no-shows) forfeit the class credit and are not eligible for a make-up or refund. Members and unlimited pass holders may be charged a $15 late-cancel / no-show fee.

Private lessons require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late-cancelled or missed privates forfeit the session and payment.

Sign-Up & Waitlist

We love drop-ins, but pre-registering online guarantees your spot. Classes with fewer than the minimum enrollment (typically 2–3 students, depending on class type) may be cancelled up to 2 hours before start time.

When a class is full you may join the waitlist. If a spot opens, you will be automatically added and notified by email or text — please make sure your contact information is current. Once added from the waitlist, our standard 12-hour cancellation policy applies. If you no longer want the spot, remove yourself from the waitlist before it moves you in.

Refunds & Transfers

All class packs, memberships, workshops, private lessons, and event bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please review the expiration date at purchase and use your credits before they expire — expirations will not be extended.

Gift cards are non-refundable but may be gifted to another person before redemption.

Age Limitations & Kids in the Studio

Adult group classes are for students 16 and older. Students ages 13–15 may take adult classes with instructor approval and a signed parental waiver. Our dedicated Kids Aerial & Circus program serves ages 5–14 in age-appropriate groupings.

For safety, children may not enter classroom or apparatus areas during active adult classes. A parent or guardian must remain in the lobby for any student under 12 for the duration of their class.

Attire & Hygiene

Our dress code is about safety and respect for the shared space, not fashion. Many of our classes are all ages, so students must be properly covered and avoid exposed body parts. Instructors may ask you to change or sit out if your clothing puts you, others, or the equipment at risk.

  • Aerial silks, rope, lyra & aerial yoga: full-length leggings and a fitted long-sleeve top or rashguard that covers armpits and elbows. The less bare skin sliding against fabric or metal, the lower your risk of silk burn, bruising, and abrasion. Shorts, sports bras, and crop tops are not appropriate for these classes.
  • Pole fitness: shorts and a fitted top are required because skin contact is needed to grip the pole. No lotion, oil, or self-tanner within 24 hours of class.
  • Bellydance, heels, flexibility: comfortable athletic wear you can move in.
  • Footwear: bare feet on apparatus. No socks or shoes on silks, lyra, rope, or pole.

No jewelry, zippers, buckles, snaps, sequins, belts, or hardware on apparatus classes — these damage silks, hoops, and poles and can catch on skin. Please remove lotions, oils, and heavy fragrances before class; they transfer to equipment and make it harder to grip. Keep hair tied back and nails trimmed. Deodorant is encouraged.

Behavior at the Studio

  • We are committed to a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment. Bullying, harassment, or disrespectful behavior toward students or staff will result in removal from the studio and cancellation of remaining credits without refund.
  • Please silence phones and keep conversations outside the classroom during class.
  • No street shoes in classroom or apparatus areas.
  • Please tidy your space and return props (mats, blocks, straps, crash pads) to their storage locations before leaving.

Pictures & Filming

Photos and video are not permitted during group classes out of respect for other students' privacy. You are welcome to film or photograph yourself:

  • Before or after class, once other students have cleared the space
  • During private lessons and private space rentals
  • At birthday and bachelorette parties (with all guests' consent)

Please never post video of another student without their explicit permission.

Parties & Private Events

We host kids birthday parties, adult birthday parties, and bachelorette parties. Please review the following before booking:

Booking & Deposits

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to hold your date. The remaining balance is due on or before the day of the event. We accept credit card, and select packages may be paid by cash on arrival.

Please confirm your final headcount at least 48 hours in advance. Additional guests beyond your booked package cannot always be accommodated and may not be added the day of.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • 14+ days notice: reschedule at no additional charge, or receive a refund of any payments beyond the $100 deposit.
  • 7–13 days notice: one-time reschedule permitted within 60 days; deposit is non-refundable.
  • Less than 7 days notice: ineligible for refund or reschedule.
  • No-show or arrival more than 30 minutes late: event is forfeited without refund.

Party Conduct

Food and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome in the lobby / party area only — never in the apparatus areas. Alcohol is permitted at adult parties in moderation and only before or after the physical portion of the event. Guests who appear intoxicated will not be permitted to participate in aerial or pole activities and will not receive a refund.

Private Lessons & Space Rentals

Private lessons offer one-on-one or small-group instruction tailored to your goals. Rentals of studio time are available for personal practice, rehearsal, or photo/video projects.

  • Space rentals are for personal use only, not for teaching or resale of instruction.
  • Guests joining a rental must sign our waiver and be listed at the time of booking.
  • Rentals are booked in one-hour increments and are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy.
  • Rentals for commercial photo or video projects must be arranged in advance by email — additional terms apply.

Outside Apparatus

For safety and insurance reasons, outside apparatus and rigging hardware (poles, silks, lyras, ropes, straps, crash mats, hardware, etc.) may not be used in the studio without prior written approval. To request approval, email a photo and technical specifications to flexibilityinflight@gmail.com. Approved apparatus may only be used during private space rentals.

Alcohol, Food & Beverages

Alcohol consumption is not permitted before or during any class. Students who arrive intoxicated will not be permitted to participate and will not be refunded.

Only bottled water is permitted inside classroom areas. Food and other beverages should be kept with your belongings in the lobby.

Safety, Injuries & Liability

Aerial arts, pole, and flexibility training carry inherent risks. By registering for a class, event, or party you acknowledge these risks and agree to the terms of our liability waiver. Please tell your instructor about any injuries, pregnancy, recent surgery, or medical conditions before class so they can offer appropriate modifications.

Instructors reserve the right to modify or restrict participation in any skill for student safety. Please never attempt a skill without spotting or instructor supervision.

Changes to These Policies

We may update these policies from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our classes and services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policies.
