Flexibility in Flight aerial & pole studio logo — Chester, NYFlexibility in Flight

For total beginners

Start here. Your first 60 minutes of aerial or pole.

No experience, no flexibility, no upper-body strength required. This is exactly what to expect — and what to wear — when you walk into Flexibility in Flight for the first time.

Your first hour

What to expect, minute by minute

Most beginners are nervous about looking silly or not being strong enough. Here's the honest play-by-play so you can walk in confident.

0–10 min

Walk in early

Arrive 10 minutes before class. Sign a quick digital waiver, meet your instructor, and get a tour of the rigging and apparatus. Stash your bag, change shoes, and ask any last-minute questions.

10–25 min

Warm-up & conditioning

A guided full-body warm-up followed by beginner-friendly conditioning. This is where strength starts — no one is expected to already be fit. We build it together, move by move.

25–50 min

Get on the apparatus

Your instructor demonstrates a beginner skill, then spots you through it. Most students climb, spin, or invert for the first time in class one. Everything is coached step by step.

50–60 min

Cool down & next steps

A few minutes of stretching and a quick recap of what you learned. Your instructor will suggest the best next classes and answer questions about the New Student Special.

Class size matters. Beginner classes are capped at 8 students so your instructor can spot, correct, and encourage you personally.
