On June 14, 2026 the flying pole comes down from the rig. Here's what to expect from this once-a-season spin workshop at Flexibility in Flight.
The flying pole is exactly what it sounds like — a pole that isn't bolted to the floor. It hangs from a single rigging point, spins freely, and lets you fly through the air on something that feels half pole, half lyra, and entirely magical. On Sunday, June 14, 2026, we're bringing it down from the rig for a focused workshop at Flexibility in Flight in Chester, NY.
What you'll learn
- Multiple spin starts — how to begin, control, and finish a clean rotation
- In-air shapes that read beautifully on a moving pole
- A short combo you can take into your own training
- Freestyle time with coaching so you can play and find your own flow
Who this workshop is for
This is an intermediate workshop. You'll need a confident climb and an A-spin on the static pole — if you can climb, sit, and start a controlled spin, you're ready. If you're not sure, message the studio before booking and we'll help you decide.
What to wear
- Pole shorts and a fitted sports bra or tank
- No lotion, oil, or self-tanner for 24 hours before
- Knee pads if you have them (the flying pole rewards soft landings)
- Hair tied back
Why flying pole is worth a workshop
Static pole teaches you how your body moves around the pole. Flying pole teaches you how to move with it. The freely spinning point changes everything — your timing, your grip, your shapes, your sense of where the ground is. Two hours on the flying pole will sharpen your static work for months afterward.
Reserve your spot
Workshop spots are limited so every student gets real hands-on coaching and time on the pole. Reserve through the events page — once it's full, the next flying pole workshop won't be on the calendar for a while.
