Aerial Fitness Classes Near Me: A Hudson Valley Guide to Times, Levels and Prices

September 18, 2026 7 min read

Looking for aerial fitness classes near you in the Hudson Valley? Here are the apparatus we teach, when each class runs in Chester, NY, and how to pick your first one.

"Aerial fitness classes near me" is the search that brings most of our new students through the door — usually after they've scrolled past studios in Brooklyn or Poughkeepsie that are nowhere near them. If you live in Orange County, Rockland County or northern Sussex County, NJ, this guide lays out what aerial fitness actually is, which classes run on which nights in Chester, NY, and how to walk into the right one first time.

What counts as an aerial fitness class?

Aerial fitness is strength and flexibility training done on hanging apparatus. You build grip, core, shoulders and back by climbing, inverting and holding shapes in the air — no gym machines, no running. Every apparatus below is taught as a progression, so beginners start on the floor and low to the ground.

  • Aerial fabric / split silks — two long lengths of fabric for climbs, wraps and drops. The classic aerial class.
  • Hammock silks and aerial sling — the fabric is tied in a loop, so it holds more of your bodyweight. Friendlier on the hands and a great first class.
  • Lyra aerial hoop — a steel hoop for shapes, spins and fluid transitions. Less grip strength required than silks.
  • Aerial yoga — a low hammock used to support stretches, inversions and decompression work. The gentlest entry point we teach.

When aerial classes run each week in Chester, NY

Our aerial line-up is spread through the week so you can train after work: Tuesday evenings bring Open Level Aerial Fabric (Split Silks) and Open Level Lyra Aerial Hoop, Wednesday runs Lyra Fluidity, Open Level Hammock Silks and Open Level Aerial Sling back to back, and Thursday adds another Lyra Aerial Hoop and Aerial Fabric slot. Times shift with workshops and seasons, so the live schedule page is always the source of truth.

Do I need to be strong or flexible first?

No. Open Level classes are built so a first-timer and a third-year student can work side by side on the same shape at different heights. You will be sore in places you forgot you had, and you will also climb something within your first month.

What a class costs

Single classes, class packs and memberships are all available, and new students get a discounted first package so you can try aerial before committing. Check the current numbers on the pricing page rather than trusting a screenshot from a year ago.
