Frequently Asked Questions

Brittany aerial pole dance

BEFORE YOU BEGIN your aerial, pole, circus arts or bellydance journey, we have some things you should know. This page will help you find the answers to your questions.

WHAT TO WEAR

Aerial Silks, Fabric and Lyra Aerial Hoop
Wear close fitting clothes that allow you to move. Leggings that cover the backs of your knees and a shirt that covers your torso are encouraged. This will prevent you from getting silk burn. Long hair should be pulled back.

Pole
We recommend shorts, as you use the back of your knees in Pole. For more advanced classes you will need to wear a sports bra or pole top, as you will need more skin to grip the pole. Heels are NOT required or recommended for Intro to Pole or Pole Level One classes. They are used in Exotic Pole; Exotic Pole Choreography and Pole Level Two Classes.

Bellydance
Clothing that is easy to move in. We will provide a hip scarf for you if you do not have one. As you progress as a bellydancer, you will want to see your abdomen. However, this is not required attire for class.

Please do NOT Wear
No jewelry is allowed in the studio – including rings, necklaces or earrings. Metal scratches and ruins the poles; can get caught on and rip the silks; can be ruined on our Lyra. Shorter manicured nails and toes are best. Long nails do rip our silks and make holding on difficult. We like to keep you and our silks safe during class. Please arrive reasonably clean and free of heavy perfumes, colognes, and strong body odors.  Please respect the other students in class.

DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER?

We STRONGLY encourage pre-registration. Registrations help us to prepare for you and get class started on time.  We know based off registration what hardware to hang; how to hang it; and what lessons to prepare to teach.  Please pre-register so we can provide a smooth class experience for you, and to ensure you have space in a class. If the class registration does not meet the minimum capacity for the particular class or workshop, the class CAN be canceled 2 hours prior to class.

WHAT IF I AM LATE?

If you are more than 15 minutes late to attend a class, we will ask you to please wait for the next class and you will lose your registration for the class you registered for. This is for your SAFETY and to ensure that the class structure is not disrupted. Please be ON TIME for class.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We have a strict 4 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with less than 4 hours notice, you will lose your class credit and will be charged a $20 late cancellation fee. For workshops and private lessons we have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel, you can do so through the MINDBODY app or calling Terra at 845-545-5050.

WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS FOR ME TO START WITH?

If you are interested in trying a silks class, we recommend that you start with a hammock class, unless aerial fabric is your primary area of interest.  Aerial fabric can sometimes be challenging for students.  We are here to assist and help you along your journey, and do not want you to get frustrated along the way.  If you are interested in Pole fitness, please try one of our Intro to Pole Fitness classes. Please try a beginner class as your first class.  If one does not fit your schedule, please let us know and register for an open level class – so we can accommodate you.
